No.40 Recuerdos de la Alhambra


Francisco Tárrega (1852-1909)

World famous‘tremolo playing' guitar song by Tarrega. I had once practiced this song, and mastered to play to the end, but I hadn't reached the level of playing it well in the presence of others.

I gave up playing it by real guitar but challenged to do it by MIDI. I upload it here now although I'm not quite satisfied with the result.

The picture below is not Alhambla but Humayun's Tomb in Delhi, India where I dripped in on my way back to the hotel. This is said to be constructed by the same people as those who constructed Taj Mahal later, and registered to be world heritage now.

No.39 Kageboushi

Hit song as an ending theme music of TV drama sang by Makoto FUJITA, a main character of this drama who passed away the other day.

I did it by piano only this time, but want to do it again by orchestra some day in the future.

The picture is one scene in the American film ‘Red Sun' where Toshiro MIFUNE, Charles Bronson, and Alain Delon, the three big stars were the main casts.

No.37 Hamabeno Uta


‘Hamabe' means beach, and ‘Uta' means song, so ‘Hamabeno Uta' means ‘Beach Song' in Japanese. The arpeggio played by the left hand in piano expresses the coming and going waves on the beach.

The picture below is Miho no Matsubara, a beautiful beach with pine trees in Shizuoka.

Spanish folk song

World famous theme song of the French film‘Jeux interdits' produced in 1952.

Everybody who had practiced classical guitar must have challenged to this song, and I was not the exception. Now I'm challenging to it again by MIDI.

I like this Abe Maria best of all the others. I did it by two flutes with piano accompaniment.

The picture is the Schloss Lichtenstein. It was in March 1979 when I dropped in Lichtenstein for the first time on my way from Zurich to Innsbruck.

I used 4 acoustic guitars using the score arranged by Shunichi KIKUCHI.

The picture below is the town of Assisi, Italy where I visited in May 1975. It was an invitation tour arranged by Italian National Tourism Boad, and Alitalia Italian Airlines. We visited many new sightseeing spot of Italy including‘Basilica di San Francesco'.
